Children in Decision-Making is a global resource for people working to involve children in decisions that affect their lives. The aim is to support governments, public services and organisations in working more systematically with children’s participation.
The platform is grounded in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the shared commitment across countries to ensure that children’s views are heard and taken into account.
The platform brings together frameworks and guidance, research and publications, inspiring practices and tools from across the world.
We have systematically searched for and selected resources developed by organisations, authorities and researchers, many of them in collaboration with children.
This is a growing resource. We welcome contributions from organisations, professionals and others working to strengthen children’s participation.
Children in Decision-Making is developed by ChangeFactory, a Norwegian foundation working in the Nordic countries and internationally. All of ChangeFactory’s work is developed in close collaboration with children and young people, reflecting their viewpoints. Young people present the knowledge from children directly to decision-makers.
ChangeFactory has more than 20 years of experience collecting knowledge from children, including over 50 national qualitative studies with more than 16,000 children across Norway.
Just as we champion participation in decision-making, we believe you should control your data. We use cookies to help us share these powerful stories and improve our platform. Please choose the experience that's right for you.
We welcome contributions that can strengthen how children are involved in decision-making.
This can include frameworks, guidance, tools, research, reports, or examples of practice.
If you are working on something relevant – or know of something that should be included – we would like to hear from you.
All submissions are reviewed before being published.
Please ensure that what you share is respectful and that you have permission to share any content, especially when it involves children.
